# VIS-03 — pre-publication source and coordination report

DESIGN / VERIFICATION OPEN — NOT CONSTRUCTION RELEASED

Prepared 2026-09-27. This report describes the completed source revision before publication; deployment status is reported separately in the delivery message. No construction, fabrication, final finish, or field-dimension release is established.

## Source bases and scope

## New source files

Fireplace repository:
- `scripts/build-vis03.py`: dated one-time content migration and deterministic vector-sheet/record generator; refuses replay after VIS-03 becomes HEAD. Subsequent revisions should edit current sources deliberately.
- `scripts/build-vis03-pdf.py`: reproducible 10-page review PDF from VIS-03 assets.
- `scripts/validate-vis03.py`: local reference, anchor, image, PDF status and mirrored-record checks.

Both repositories add the identical files under `dist/assets/vis-03/` listed in the asset inventory below. No files were deleted; historical originals remain in versioned assets but are no longer presented as current. No dependency manifests, packages, hosting access controls or custom domains changed.

## Remaining unresolved values and gates

- Exact fireplace-wall width and mantel endpoint conditions
- Final forward face width/height, ceiling pitch and top scribe; 64 × 94 is existing reference
- Exact finished face depth within 12–13 in and component build-up
- Mantel thickness, elevation, window-glazing/trim conflict, finish, fabricator, structural attachment/backing and loads
- Hearth height TBD; 2 or 3 in reference only, not released; cap thickness, material, joints and support TBD
- Firebox datum, actual recession, return depth, opening transition and permitted overlap
- Heatilator data plate, exact model/suffix, installed gas equipment identification and applicable manuals/clearances
- Gas key/shutoff access, service removal paths, chimney/enclosure air spaces and circulation clearance
- Existing trim profile, height, thickness, paint and physical sample match

- Derived hearth exposure: cap ≈6–7 in past stone, base ≈5–6 in past stone; mantel ≈1–2 in beyond cap. Verify all datums together.
- No final mantel finish sample was established. The material strip labels its dark color block as direction only.
- New room renders show a full-wall mantel crossing window glazing at the illustrated elevation. This is explicitly unresolved; field-coordinate elevation, window use/trim, end conditions and structural support before any release.
- The angled render crops the upper stone/ceiling junction. Use the front view and retained VIS-02 reference for ceiling context. Generated camera/proportions are not certified pixel-identical or dimensionally measurable. A measured/CAD reconstruction is required for fabrication-level geometric fidelity.
- Hearth cap material/thickness/edge/support are not confirmed by the wall-stone selection; illustrated pale cap appearance is provisional.
- Heatilator HD42 is only a working family ID. Exact data plate/suffix, installed gas equipment, instructions 12955 (4-14-88), supplement 12063 (6-6-88), applicable clearances, chimney/enclosure air spaces, service/gas accessibility and structural backing remain gates. No conceptual dimension overrides them.

## Evidence / rendering provenance

- Architectural baseline: original `assets/Fireplace Design Study Board(1).png` / hub `assets/vis-02.png`; inspected directly. Old geometry and small inset are superseded.
- Actual wall-stone photograph: existing `assets/actual-stone-sample.webp`, inspected directly. Larger lower stones are the requested visual character.
- Actual floor photographs: Library `IMG_0927.jpeg` / `libfile_ace60fef93c88191bbc6b80497569fc3` and `IMG_0928.jpeg` / `libfile_a4b6a17bb83c819187f91a84d963dbf7`.
- Trim search: reviewed the project-folder image inventory and actual IMG_0734 / IMG_0737 / IMG_0739 photographs. IMG_0737 is the close reference; none establishes measured profile/height/thickness.
- Room images created/edited with built-in image generation; exact prompt set and targeted correction prompts in `render-prompts.txt`. Two final outputs retained.
- Coordination sheets are deterministic SVGs, not generated-image dimensions. Material sheet embeds actual photographs unaltered; metal swatch is explicitly conceptual.

## Validation / execution

- Opened both source repositories using the existing Sites IDs; preserved audience and domains.
- Ran the dated VIS-03 generator, PDF builder, static reference/record validation, JavaScript syntax checks and Git whitespace checks.
- Rendered the PDF with Poppler and visually reviewed all ten pages; repaired front-elevation dimension label placement, material-column spacing, PDF header color and the open path in the return detail.
- Verified all eight requested visual assets exist; six SVG sheets parse and two room images decode. Every PDF page carries NOT CONSTRUCTION RELEASED.
- Checked local links, image alt text, unique IDs and fragment targets; matched VIS-03 assets and JSON byte-for-byte across sites.
- Browser viewport/interaction QA was not performed; no measured responsive or accessibility pass is claimed. Existing navigation and image-dialog JS are unchanged, with syntax checked.
- Packaging and publication use the Sites workflow; successful deployment receipts are reported in the final delivery message, not assumed by this pre-publication document.

## Next-agent maintenance instruction

Open both existing Sites and read `assets/vis-03/coordination-record.json`, this report and the current source. VIS-03 is the controlling design-direction record. Do not restore VIS-02 geometry or silently assign any null/TBD field. Capture measured wall span, mantel/window coordination, exact fireplace data plate, release clearances and physical finish/trim approvals; update status and drawings with provenance. Keep mirrored assets/record identical and run `python3 scripts/validate-vis03.py <hub-checkout>` before publishing both. Do not replay the dated VIS-03 migration on a later HEAD. Construction release requires a separate explicit approval backed by the verified field/manufacturer record.
